Pastel chalk on paper, original size approx. 60cm x 42cm
Little Stints on their way to Northern Europe in early spring - resting at the Baltic Sea and looking for food. Maybe they even stayed here all the mild winter.
The Little Stint, Calidris minuta (or Erolia minuta), is a very small wader. It breeds in arctic Europe and Asia, and is a long-distance migrant, wintering south to Africa and south Asia. It occasionally is a vagrant to North America and to Australia.

This work gets an instant vote and fave. I love birds and blue and brown together, so this is a natural favorite of mine. Plus, it gets my Pick of the Day for the Female Artists group.
